CLF vs Stellar Education — the self-paced regulated route

They publish their prices. Respect.
Now compare what the money buys.

The verdict in 20 seconds

Stellar Education does two things most of this industry refuses to: it sells genuinely regulated qualifications, and it prints the prices — £1,987 for its online Level 5, £724 for its Level 3, as listed on their pages. Both facts earn plain credit here. The structural difference is delivery: Stellar is self-paced online study of an awarding body’s specification; CLF is live teaching on a real trading floor (or live online) of a syllabus we wrote ourselves — and our entry rung costs £120 all-in, exam and certificate included.

How we compared: Stellar Education’s published prices as logged on our qualification-providers comparison (verified 4 July 2026), read and verified 14 July 2026. We credit what they do well and link every claim to something you can check. Spot an error? Tell us and we will correct it.

Printed prices and regulation are table stakes both providers meet. The choice left is honest: study alone at your pace, or live with the people who wrote it.

Who they are

The honest budget option — taken seriously.

Stellar Education occupies a spot this industry needs: regulated qualifications, self-paced online, at prices published where anyone can read them — £724 for the Level 3, £1,987 for the Level 5, as their pages listed when we logged them. For a self-directed learner who wants a regulated certificate without live-class scheduling, that is honest value and we have said so on our qualification-providers page since day one.

The differences that remain are format and authorship. Self-paced means you study an awarding body’s licensed specification alone; CLF teaches live — two days on a physical London trading floor or live online — from a curriculum our own traders wrote and tested with cohorts for years before accreditation, with the Stargate platform and a human team around it. And the ladders differ at the first rung: their cheapest regulated entry is £724; ours is £120 with the exam and certificate inside it. If you are choosing between exactly these two, this is the whole choice.

Stellar facts as their pages listed when logged on our qualification-providers comparison, verified 4 July 2026: online Level 5 at £1,987 and Level 3 at £724, self-paced delivery of regulated qualifications. Prices and offerings change; if Stellar’s listings update, tell us and we will correct this table. We repeat our standing credit: publishing prices is the right behaviour and this industry needs more of it.

The honest bit

When Stellar is genuinely the right call.

You need fully self-paced studyShift work, caring duties, odd hours — if live scheduling genuinely cannot fit your life, self-paced regulated study is the right tool and Stellar prices it honestly.
You want the cheapest regulated Level 5 onlineAt £1,987 listed, their Level 5 undercuts most classroom routes. If Level 5 is the immediate target and online-only suits you, that is rational value.
You dislike live classesSome people learn better alone with recordings. That is a real preference, not a flaw.
But weigh the first rung: if you have never sat a trading qualification before, £120 live with the people who wrote the syllabus answers “is this for me?” six times cheaper than £724 alone with a specification. Test live first; go self-paced later if that is your style.

Questions

The obvious questions.

Yes — it sells genuinely regulated qualifications and, unusually for this industry, prints its prices (£724 Level 3, £1,987 Level 5 online, as listed when we logged them). This page's comparison is about format and authorship, not legitimacy: self-paced study of a licensed specification versus live teaching of an in-house syllabus from £120.
As listed on their pages when we verified (4 July 2026): £724 for the online Level 3 and £1,987 for the online Level 5, self-paced. CLF's live-taught accredited Level 2 is £120 all-in, with Level 3 from £4,400.
Delivery and authorship. Stellar: self-paced online study of an awarding body's specification, honest printed prices. CLF: live teaching (London floor or live online) of a syllabus written in-house and student-proven before accreditation, a £120 entry with exam and certificate, the Stargate platform, and 977 published results.
When self-paced is non-negotiable — shift patterns, time zones, or a strong preference for solo study — and your target is a regulated certificate at the lowest online price. This page recommends them for exactly that case.
No. Regulated education is about assessed knowledge, not income promises; most retail traders lose money.

Printed prices deserve respect.
Live teaching deserves £120 to test.
